“Hey guys, thought i'd share a bit more info behind our
Tracing technology, and the comparisons between Kemper & ToneHub. What's important to note, is that in future, we won't be doing many ToneHub vs Kemper comparisons, because it's not supposed to sound like the Kemper, it's supposed to sound like the original source tone created. We aren't converting Kpir files into ToneHub format, it doesnt have anything to do with the Kemper. We have actually built an entire back end plugin we call the Tracer, which is how we Trace any analog signal chain, in full. (i cant share the specific's of this tech).
So for example, if you profile a JCM800 using the Kemper, it will create a snapshot of that specific setup, which does get extremely close to a 1:1 comparison. However, if you decide you want to now adjust the gain, or tonestack on the Kemper, it wont react like a JCM800, as the Kemper is using a global gain and eq stack. What makes ToneHub awesome, is if you use a preset of the above amp mentioned, adjusting the gain, and tonestack, will react how that original amp is supposed to. That's a big difference as to how powerful ToneHub is vs a Kemper. (not saying i don't love the Kemper btw)
So i think moving forward, instead of showing examples between a Kemper profile, and the resulting ToneHub preset, we will show you examples of the actual original pedal/amp/cab source tone, and the final ToneHub preset that is created from it. That way you're hearing how amazing ToneHub Tracing Technology is to the original source, not the Kemper profile.”
