Объяснялка на английском, чем MIR отличается от Synchron Stage Reverb (SSR).
In short:
- If you want to have control over each and every parameter possible regarding room, mics, positions, orientations, and "player" (dry signal) MIR is the way to go.
- If you just want to add the great cinematic Decca Tree Synchron Stage sound to your dry recording/libraries, Synchron Stage Reverb is the better choice.
In more detail:
MIR uses a different approach and is based on Ambisonics. This is a highly mathimatical format that allows to simulate 3D space and mic patterns. The result is similar to an XY- or Mid-Side recording.
Synchron Stage Reverb uses simple IRs of all mics in stage (Decca setup), which are then downmixed by the engine according to Bernd Mazagg's mix.
