Hi, man!
As i can see, you have an afx2 and kemper. could you say about kemper vs afx2 ? which of them sound more realistic? and in general that the more you like and why? this is very very intresting for me )
p.s. i waiting for afx2... now he is at the customs)
The AXE II, for me is the best choice, all it's effects are better sounding , the effects routing is amazing, it really does so much more then the Kemper. Fractal, from what i've read on the forum, will be adding their own profiling soon, so when that happens and assuming it's similar to the Kemper i will sell the Kemper and just keep the Axe II, I think you made a wise choice getting the AXE II.
Now the Kemper i really like the idea of profiling, it sounds very realistic and feels like playing a tube amp, you can get more realistic sounds with the Kemper then with the Axe II, specially with the sounds that come from factory, and that's why I'm excited about Fractal adding "profiling" to the Axe II.
The Kemper is still very buggy as far as it's software, right now I wouldn't trust it to use for live shows, sometimes just switching patches makes it crash! new version of firmware has lot's of pops, noises etc, I had to revert back to an older system to be able to use it, but Kemper seems to be working very hard to fix all that, and eventually they will, the Kemper can only do 1 amp at a time, AXE you can have 2 amps playing at the same time, Kemper no matter what they do will still be limited for it's fixed effects routing etc, overall the AXE is just so much better.
So to conclude, in my opinion if you want the most realistic sound today it would be the KPA, but in the near future when Fractal implements the profiling to the Axe II, i plan to sell the Kemper and just keep the AXE II, don't think the Kemper has the processing power, or the hardware to be able to compete with the Axe II, not to mention Cliff's supper support for the AXE II.
You made the right choice in my opinion, the future will be the AXE II
Enjoy your AXE II
