Dear KONTAKT user,
The upcoming free KONTAKT 4.2 update will bring a lot of enhancements to the leading software sampler. This includes increased saving/loading performance, a revised Master Output section, 64 Bit VST support on Mac OS X, additional import formats, and many other improvements.
To ensure the best possible quality for this version, the KONTAKT team has decided to set up a public beta test. This means that as a registered KONTAKT 4 owner, you now have the opportunity to download a fully functional 4.2 beta version from the NI website and test out all the new capabilities right away.
Please note that even though the public beta version has already undergone extensive internal testing, it is still a pre-release version and should be used with caution in performance-critical environments.

Important notes:
The KONTAKT 4.2 public beta version requires (and overwrites) a previous KONTAKT 4.x installation on the same computer.
Instruments, Multis, and host projects saved with KONTAKT 4.2 cannot be reloaded with an earlier version of the software.
If you want to revert to KONTAKT 4.1.3 at any time, you will have to deinstall the 4.2 version, run the master installer from the original DVD set again, then install the latest official 4.1.3 update.
There is no tech support given for the public beta version. If you should encounter any technical issues with this version, please submit your findings through the "Public beta bug tracker" on the NI website for the developers to look into. You will automatically receive an email with the bug tracker login details after signing up for the beta test.
On behalf of the KONTAKT team, a big "Thank You" in advance to everyone who joins this beta test to ensure that KONTAKT 4.2 will be the most powerful and robust version ever.
Best regards,
Your Native Instruments Team
