Live 9.0b61 released
Hi,
we have just released Live 9.0b61. You can download it from
https://www.ableton.com/account or simply wait for the automatic update.
Release Notes:
Improvements and feature changes:
Max for Live is now available in the 64-bit version.
Note: this requires the latest Max build (1d8cfe8) which can be downloaded from your user account page (
https://www.ableton.com/account) or by clicking the Max download link in Live's "File Folder" preferences pane. Mac users only need to install one version, which is a hybrid 32-/64-bit build. Windows users need to install 32-bit and 64-bit versions discretely.
Known issues:
- The 64-bit version of Max does currently not support Quicktime, which affects Jitter and also other Max objects that rely on Quicktime.
- The other important thing to note is that devices containing third party externals require 64-bit versions of these externals. For the same reason, the "Convolution Reverb" Max for Live device won't produce any sound. We're working on an updated version of the Convolution Reverb.
The default install location for factory packs on OS X has been changed to ~/User/Music/Ableton/Factory Packs/
The folder icons on virtual folders in the browser's "Categories" section have been removed.
The global 'Back to Arrangement' button in the Arrangement View has been moved to the scrub area.
You can now also move a multi-selection of packs to a new location by using the "Move Packs..." option from the context menu of selected packs in the browser.
Added control surface script for Push.
Several info texts have been updated.
Bugfixes:
Switching to another application and back to Live could cause audio drop outs and GUI problems because of the indexer. This was already fixed on Mac in 9.0b58. This is now also fixed on Windows.
Saving Live Sets could sometimes be slower than necessary.
The browser wouldn't show the correct folder icons for project folders.
Drums-to-Midi could produce incorrect results when running Live on a different sample rate than 44100 Hz.
The "Overdrive" device would sound different than in Live 8.
The Live 8 legacy mode of the "Gate" device would sound different than in Live 8.
Unwarped, transposed audio clips would not play the correct clip length.
The master track in the Arrangement View would be grayed out then playing clips in Session View.
Dragging the "Seg. BPM" value with the mouse could lead to very large steps and could not be fine-tuned.
Fixed a crash which could occur when converting Simpler to Sampler and having a control surface selected in Live's preferences.
Fixed a crash which could occur when triggering "cut" or "paste" on clip while holding down the mouse.
Dragging a sample on a scene would crash Live.
3 more crashes have been fixed.
