First of all: thanks for all your comments and posts to this thread.
Second: yes, it's true - in the past, we did allow license transfers of our plug-ins, and honestly, you wouldn't believe the amount of license-sharing and general abuse, we saw as a result of that. Very sad.
To that end we did two things: we changed our software license agreements, for all our optional plug-ins, so they state what you might have already seen on our FAQ, and we started working on a better way to do this - a safer way, that would be more convenient and give you guys the freedom and flexibility to move your licenses around, and a way for us to help you protect your investments in our products by plugging the hole.
That's how it started out, and as the old proverbs goes: 'the road to h… is paved with good intentions' ...
I can assure you that petitions are not necessary to get our attention - this thread did the trick just fine - and it became painfully obvious to us, that our efforts have been hurting and alienating loyal users, and the people we try to make happy on a daily basis.
So guys - I apologise, we all do. We heard you, and we're going to make good on this by reversing our policy.
Second generation hardware comprises the largest part of our userbase, so we'll take care of these first: the forthcoming PowerCore 3.1 software will allow you to transfer your licenses. This feature was in fact in our schedule, to be launched alongside Vista support in the PowerCore drivers, but we decided to move this feature ahead and give it a much higher priority (and as a couple of sidenotes - first: this feature was planned for 2.0, but we had no TC Account at that time, which we needed for the whole thing to work. Second: this is the reason why it appeared to you that we were delaying Vista. We're not -- Vista is on track -- but we'll go to 3.1 sooner than planned, and Vista will become 3.2).
For first generation hardware, we're still facing some challenges so it will take a bit more time, but we will find a solution for you soon. If you can't wait, please get in touch with our Support Team.
So, when is PowerCore 3.1 coming? We aiming for a release in March (yes, this year, and no public beta etc).
