"when most people say "ff" they actually mean cuivre fff - completely blasting it.
Berlin Brass indeed does not have fff or particularly brassy fff in general.
This is actually mainly because German players simply do not play that way, they play a bit more restrained and loud does not equal "brassy".
So I'm afraid your question is hard to answer... BBR can do ff, but ff may not be what you expect it to be.
Trailer-type music has "taught" people to expect ffff 100% of the time, which would be unplayable for real musicians. The problem is that recording this is near-impossible, because while players can do it 20 seconds in a cue, they can't do it 3 hours in a row. So to record this sound, we would need to have 5 minute-long recording sessions, because players are simply not able to sustain that sound for the duration of a whole session."
