@papaZooZoo, предзаказы на нее с конца августа уже собираются,
вот что Влад Креймер писал о текущем состоянии дел по выпуску Лира-8 :
Hi!
I'm happy to announce that we are nearing completion of the first batch of LYRA-8 production models! It contains 30 units.
Establishing production was harder and took longer than I expected and it's still a work in progress, but i've got the quality i love.
Thanks to the SOMA team and all who support the project! *
After posting the LYRA demo videos, the synth really grew in popularity – 1,000 preorders received to this point!
That means the future is very bright for the LYRA project.
Half of the first batch has already been sold and the initial feedback from our customers is very positive!
Here are the very first experiments with LYRA-8:
Now that production is up and running I can establish the final LYRA-8 price at this time -
580 USD. Fortunately that's not such a big difference with the preliminary price.
I decided to set the final price in US dollars because all components and half of production costs are in this currency. Looking forward, this is the best way to create a stable price so we're not forced to update it with every currency rate fluctuation.
That said, the rest of the first batch will be sold for the old price (500 euros).
Delivery costs and money transfer fees are not included in the price.
Currently we use PayPal but I'm searching for alternative systems with lower fees so you have a choice.
---------------------------------
I analysed the possibility of a DIY LYRA version and came to the conclusion that, due to the complex and expensive nature of the build, a full DIY kit (housing, PCBs and all components) will be either too expensive for customers (almost the price of an assembled unit) or at a disadvantage for me.
So I decided for the moment to offer a simple DIY version containing just flat PCBs + rare chips + front panel drawings + assembly instructions. The price for the kit will be about 100 - 150 USD and will be a great way for experienced DIYers to build a LYRA fast and cheap. I'm going to make the first 10 LYRA-8 DIY kits with the next batch. It should be available within 2-3 months (the news will be announced)
---------------------------------
Some people have asked about a black LYRA-8 version (black housing with white lettering).
If you prefer a black version - please let me know by a simple reply to this mail.
If there are enough people who want it I'll make a black LYRA-8 batch.
------------------------------
We are currently preparing the LYRA-4 for mass production, so the LYRA-4 should be for sale in about 2-3 months.
Right now I build the synth one-at-a-time on my own when I have a time.
-------------------
And last but not least, the most frequently asked question: "How long do I have to wait for my LYRA?"
Unfortunately it's still difficult to give a concrete answer. The reason is that the production is not yet fully established and we have not yet achieved a stable output rate with new units being produced continuously.
I'm still searching for some quality and efficient parts sourcing and construction elements production. When all of this has been established, we will be able to announce concrete and specific delivery estimates.
Now I just can say:
For LYRA-8: If you preordered the synth during the summer, expect a wait of 3-6 months. If it was after September 1, expect 8-14 months.
For LYRA-4: When mass production starts I hope all preorders will be fulfilled relatively fast, due to the lower number of preorders. So please consider 2-4 months for summer preorders and 4-6 months if it was later.
Of course I will do my best to speed up production including searching for collaborations and new ways for the production.
We really appreciate your patience, understanding and support while we continue to refine our manufacturing process. Eventually, everyone who wishes to have a Lyra synth will receive one!
