We sampled a Ludwig Vistalite drum kit with a Ludwig Supraphonic snare and Zildjian cymbals and hi hat. This kit was used by John Bonham for playing live with Led Zeppelin. Although we are not trying to emulate the Bonham signature sound, this kit is perfect for playing classic rock. Its big toms and low tuned snare suites perfectly in every track.
It has 6 repetitions (round robin) and 6 velocities (from soft to strong), but the most important is that on every mic you have the real and natural bleeding of the other parts of the drum. As you can hear on the audio demos, through the mics you can hear exactly what is recorded in a real studio situation. In other words, when you play a key, the sound comes from each of the 8 mics, so there’s 8 files playing. Is like having recorded the drum yourself!
With our custom script you can control the volume, pan and tune of each mic like it was recorded in you own computer or studio. It’s exciting to play and hear it!

Today, we are finally starting to release the AAX (Native & DSP) and 64-bit compatible versions of our software, built on our latest 64-bit version 3 framework, hereafter called v3.
First out is our classic Freeware, BitterSweet v3 Transient Designer, as well as our Elixir v3 True Peak Limiter, and now when we have the framework ready, we are aiming at having all our software ported and available during Q1 this year.

The v3 framework improves the performance dramatically (measured 500-1000 percent improvement for Elixir depending on host environment!) and for the graphic rendering the v3 framework includes our GPU-efficient 2D/3D graphic engine, first introduced in the Pure Analyzer System, based on the OpenGL standard optimizing the audio-to-visual experience utilizing the GPU on the computer's built in graphics card.

Availability
Elixir v3 is available in Native version (AU/VST/AAX Native) and in AAX DSP/Native version (the DSP licence includes licences for AAX DSP and Native). The update to the 64-bit compatible and to the AAX Native version (AU/VST/AAX Native) is Free of charge for all current owners of Elixir, and can be downloaded when logged in to the customer download area on our website. If you're not using Elixir yet, a dongle free trial version is available on our download page as well.

Компания Cakewalk представила программный компрессор CA-2A T-Type Leveling Amplifier, поддерживающий форматы VST, Audio Units, и SONAR X2 Producer ProChannel. Сообщается, что легендарный винтажный электро-оптический ламповый компрессор был тщательно смоделирован разработчиками для того, чтобы воссоздать классический звук, который можно услышать на многих "платиновых" записях.

Cakewalk первоначально сделала этот компрессор доступным как ProChannel-модуль в своей флагманской DAW SONAR, а затем в конце 2012 года выпустила версию для Propellerhead Rack Extension - RE-2A. С выходом CA-2A музыканты, продюсеры и звукорежиссеры смогут использовать это решение в любой VST- или AU-совместимой DAW.

CA-2A подходит для любого аудиоматериала, но особенно хорошо – для вокальных треков, создавая прозрачный звук и сохраняя при этом динамические характеристики. Он также отлично звучит с электрическими и акустическими гитарами, включая басовые инструменты, а также фортепиано, духовыми и другими источниками.
В зависимости от поступающего материала, моделируемая схема T4 использует электролюминесцентную панель, чтобы определить точное время атаки (около 10 миллисекунд) и оптическую фотоячейку, чтобы определить время спада. Тщательно моделируются лампы усилителя и оптико-электронные устройства – плагин работает в точности как оригинальное "железо". CA-2A также включает функцию быстрого сброса памяти фотоэлемента (Fast Resetting Photocell Memory), что позволит процессору реагировать с большей гибкостью, чем оригинальный компрессор при необходимости работать с таким материалом, как, например, ударные и слэп-бас.

Инженеры Cakewalk также внедрили в CA-2A функцию side-chain, что позволяет компрессору реагировать на сигнал одного канала и применять результат к другому. Эту функцию многие инженеры микширования найдут полезной для широкого спектра задач, например, для дакинга или пампинга синт-звуков в электронной танцевальной музыке.

AGM is recorded on the Martin D-41 acoustic guitar, with 3842 dry samples and a total size of 5.61GB. Original samples have been recorded as 24bit 44.1khz stereo. Natural sustain and resonating sounds of the guitar are unadulterated. No looping samples.

The samples are categorized in two banks: Finger and Picking.

As with other Ample Guitar instruments, AGM is also featured with the following functionalities and techniques: Hammer On & Pull Off, Legato Slide up & down, Slide in Below & Slide out Downwards, Palm Mute, Natural Harmonic, Popping 9 guitar techniques, Legato at random length, pitch & poly.All techniques can be played in Legato mode, even when strumming.
