We’ve now reached the point where we even miss old tape plugins. So we made Pulsar DigiTape: two early digital tape algorithms from the 2000s, brought together in one free plugin.
Those algorithms have a character that today’s more accurate tape models don’t reproduce. One compresses the existing highs and rounds transients. The other enriches the top end with harmonics from the saturated lows and mids.
CONTOUR compresses and saturate the top end and rounds transients. Five Types offer different saturation curves and tonal balances.
GRAIN saturates the lows and mids while reducing the original highs. The harmonics generated by those lower bands enrich the top end and give the signal more body.
Developed when processing power was limited, these algorithms captured the qualities of tape their creators valued most. DigiTape pays tribute to those pioneers, their work and their ears.
We’ve brought these algorithms into a modern interface, with features for today’s sessions.

Почему размер обрезали хрен их знает, но такое наблюдал и ранее и хранил два варианта на всякий шухер (забыл в каких плагинах).
Первая версия более недоступна.
