- Almost everything sound better on the Kurzweil, or you can load samples that are better. In the next list I only compare with stock Kurz sounds.
- Motif piano is flat, where the Kurz piano is warm and dynamic
- Motif organs are better
- Motif synth Leads are quite good, althought the Kurz has more experimental sounds.
- Motif brass (motown stuff) are more cutting through live.
- Motif acoustic guitar is bad, Kurz guitar op orch board is a killer.
- Motif Sax is bad, Rhodes is avarage, some FM e-pianos are okay.
- Motif strings are 90% of the kurz (I do love/hate the vibrato in the motif string samples)
- kurzweil ROM4 Rhodes expansion is a real organic experiense, compared to the small samples in the Motif, this really sound warm/old/rambling. Like the real-thing!
- Motif USB communication is very slow. Buy a reader!
- Motif Smartcard communcation is slow (1 minute to read an all file...)
The Kurz costs almost twice as much as the motif. Having both devices gives me more flexibility during life shows. I don't have setups for every song and vary my sounds quite often.
The Motif seems more cutting through the mix. The amount of presents is big so I can use whatever I want. Like the banjo for 'ice-cream'....
The Motif is a very nice sounding and cuts through the mix very nice. Life it's a beast. The kurz sound more natural, a bit more warm. They complement each other very nice.
