New features and changes in detail
08/04/2026 Sequoia 2026.5 Build 26210
Sequoia 2026.5 may require a license update.
The installer displays a warning if a license update is required.
Wibu/CodeMeter licenses are not affected.
New Spatial Panner
Displays all tracks and Atmos objects routed to surround or stereo targets in a single editor, allowing their positions to be viewed at once.
Allows the panning of a source to be edited simultaneously in multiple surround mixes.
By default, the panning settings for different targets are linked, including stereo targets.
Leader pan settings and automation are copied to followers when they are unlinked.
Detailed information is available in the online help by pressing F1 while the SpatialPanner is open.
Legacy surround panning conversion: Existing projects are converted to the new panningsystem.
The check for required project conversion takes place immediately after loading aproject.
For surround projects, the conversion can be skipped and performed later.
ADM / Dolby Atmos projects must be converted for the new Spatial Panner.
Legacy conversion handling was added when loading the Monitoring Section.
Legacy conversion was added for stereo projects and templates to ensure consistentactivation of “Primary output only”.
New symmetry handling for stereo sources
Options for Independent, Parallel and Angle
In Angle Mode, channel positions are moved mirror-symmetrically relative to the room-center-to-symmetry-center axis instead of rotating around the room center.
Holding Alt while dragging locks the radius so that channels move only tangentially alongtheir current circle.
The Spread knob is now bipolar in Angle Mode (-180° to +180°), while Parallel Moderetains a range of 0-100%.
[SEQD-695] Spatial Panner Plug-in Mode
Plug-ins are now selected using the Plug-in Browser.
An individual surround panner plug-in is now supported for each surround target.
Added a button for opening the VST dialog directly from the Spatial Panner.
When the plug-in is disabled, only L/R panning is applied.
Right-clicking in the Mixer or Track Editor opens the Spatial Panner. Shift-right-clickingopens the plug-in directly.
[SEQD-1155] Object surround panning
The Spatial Panner can now be opened from the Object Editor.
The Spatial Panner selection can now be synchronized with the object selection.

Stereo Pan dialog
The dialog was redesigned so that it can be embedded in the Spatial Panner.
[SEQD-1033] [SEQD-1113] Several fixes and enhancements
The standalone dialog is now used only for hardware outputs or when the output is set to“None”.
This also applies to the Main Pan dialog when the primary output is set to a hardwaredevice or to “None”.
“Follow Main Pan” is displayed only in standalone mode. Embedded mode uses thelinking functionality of the Spatial Panner.
“Primary output only” option
Displayed for older projects only when the option is disabled.
Always enabled for new projects.
Surround / Routing
[SEQD-219] [SEQD-182] Surround buses and folders can now be created without anexisting surround master. Creating a surround bus no longer automatically creates asurround master. The new bus is routed to an existing stereo master through a downmixmatrix.
[SEQD-947] The surround pan widgets in the Mixer now correctly represent pan positionswithin the square panning area, despite their rectangular shape.
[SEQD-850] “Primary output only” handling and linking
“Primary output only” is enabled by default for new projects unless they are based on atemplate.
With “Primary output only” pan processing, peak meter calculation is performed post-pan so that the peak meters reflect the pan position.
Automatic stereo linking requires “Primary output only” to be enabled and may thereforenot work in older projects.
Preset handling
[SEQD-1147] The preset file extension for surround setups was changed to
*.gssx
.
Some legacy presets were removed.
[SEQD-1156] Reworked presets for track surround, Matrix, and Stereo Pan modes

[SEQD-1096] A routing warning is now displayed when a track is removed as a routingtarget by disabling its submix bus state.
[SEQD-1076] Removing a routing target with Ctrl in the track output menu now deletesthe routing instead of bypassing it. As a result, the routing is no longer displayed in theSpatial Panner.
Bugfixes
[SEQD-1145] Fixed routing deletion for non-primary outputs.
[SEQD-958] Warning messages are now displayed when loading older projects in thecurrent version or current projects in older program versions.

The default pan law for mono tracks is now -3 dB.
The default setting is also applied when switching a track to mono or stereo.
The setting is not applied to buses.
The legacy
DefaultValueCenterChannelReduction
setting and loading this valuefrom
Template.vip
are no longer supported.
[SEQD-1168] Options for processing stereo objects in mono tracks

[SEQD-1122] Active panning is now always displayed in the Mixer, Track Editor, andArranger.
For linked targets, the leader panning is displayed.

[SEQD-281] “ADM” is displayed instead of “Obj” for ADM Pan Mode in the Mixer andTrack Editor.
[SEQD-1145] Standard AUX sends can now be deleted in the Mixer using the Delete key.Previously, this worked only for outputs and plug-in slots.

FX I/O Matrix
now available for all Sequoia users
Opened from the "Plug-in" menu of a VST Plugin dialog to route track audio channels intoplug-in input channels (including side chain channels) and plug-in output to track audiochannels.
Presets can be saved and also used as default routing for the current plug-in
[SEQ-8665] FX I/O matrix thru mode to allow using mono or stereo plug-ins on surroundbusses
"Thru" means track channels that are not routed to plugin inputs are passed over to thenext plug-in slot so you could e.g. assign the first plug-in to channels 1+2, the next one to3+4 etc.
“Ch." control lets you reduce a plug-in’s channel count, for example, turning a stereoplug-in into mono or a surround plug-in into stereo, so you can use it more easily inparallel FX chains.
[SEQD-222] includes latency compensation
Known Issues:
Channel count control doesn't work reliably with VST2 plug-ins.

That decoder isn’t longer used for new projects and such MP3s are now converted towave files on import.
[SEQD-165] Marker list export adaptions
CSV Marker export uses the order of visible columns in the marker manager
The selection of exported data is still done in the marker list export options, if thisincludes columns not shown in the marker manager, these are added at the end, in theorder shown in the export options
