9.1 Beta testing is in final stage so we can now offer you a more detailed
insight on the features which are to come with it.
9.1 release should only be a few weeks away.
I'm giving only the headlines here, with the relase there will be a readme
with about 10 pages of detailed feature and bugfix documentation, which
just is not ready yet.
A large part of resources was put into refinement, optimisation and fixing
of existing features - which we hope will give you an even better experience
when working with the program. But nonetheless this and that new feature
could slip in Here's the list:
Updated hybrid engine (or play engine in general):
-Dual CPU Support for Economy Playback (all engines and MME playback), bouncing and CD burning, also including all ObjectFX and Economy Tracks calculations in Hybrid engine, hence giving support for up to 4 CPUs or Cores in Hybrid Engine
-Hybrid-Bouncing: maintains maximum plugin compatiblitly also with bouncing and CD burning by using identical buffer regimes for Hybrid Egnine playback and bouncing
-new performance options to support reduced CPU load for muted or silent tracks in Hybrid Engine similar to other engines
-low latency automation in hybrid engine
-advanced Monitor and Solo handling with monitor and solo volume knobs, PFL switch and monitor/solo bus options (the later for hybrid engine only)
-VariSpeed now also available for Hybrid Engine, but there limited to factors 0.125,0.25, 0.5 or 2.0
-improved handling of external effects or synthesizers (Hybrid Engine only) to allow latency compensation and adding of FX send and return tracks
-new monitoring mode to allow Hardware-Monitoring in Hybrid engine
Mixer / Plugins:
-updated MAGIX Plugins Suites e.g. Variverb with new HQ models, new complex mode for Corvex, new GUIs new preset console and support for host silence optimization feature
-improved VST compatibility (especially with hybrid engine) e.g. by avoiding buffer size changes and unnecessary restarts, reducing optimization conflicts (Melodyne VST) and some workarounds for individual plugins (Ivory 1.6, AudioCube)
-easier VST Setup by options to get system VST plugin path from registry and to rescan plugins independent from directory depth
-new inactive state for VST-FX and VSTi plugins, frees all resources used by the plugin (e.g. memory, CPU or PowerCore / UAD type resources) and is automatically used with undo or for freezing VSTi
-reworked internal DX plugin format for improved compatibility and free combined routings with VST plugins
-enhanced FX Drag'n'Drop in mixer supports plugin copy between tracks and master, exchanging or moving of plugins
-transfer of VST plugins in object editor to mulitple objects now possible
-option for mono input now independent from ”Mono Processing”
-mixer maximized state is remembered now, project name is shown in mixer headline
-in mixer snapshot context menu there is a new command to load mixer setups including their track names
MIDI / VSTi:
-VST MIDI Out + VSTi Audio Out Recording (Hybrid Engine only)
-MIDI Editor Multi-Object-Editing to edit several tracks or several objects on one track together
-several more shortcuts for the MIDI Editor (Nudge,…)
-new command “Reset Quantize” to undo a quantisation at any later stage of editing
-new filter functions for the list editor (equal, not equal, greater or equal, less or equal)
-new MIDI commands available in the Arranger(Apply MIDI Start Quantize, MIDI Length Quantize, Reset MIDI Quantize, Demix MIDI objects by channel,…)
-extended Score Editor (now up to 48 staves per subsystem possible, complex scores can be built by editing several tracks together, hide/show notes in score command,...)
-MusicXML Score Export
-easier VSTi routing setup dialog with restructured easy and additional advanced options
-extended VSTi Manager (routing of VSTi outputs, complete freezing of VSTi with multiple outputs)
-Solo of MIDI track activates VSTi-Return-Tracks (with active Global: Solo-Safe option)
-improved MIDI Loop Recording
Hardware Controller:
-extended HUI Support (Display, Peakmeter)
General:
-improved Vista compatibility (HTML Help, new Codemeter-runtime 3.2 recommended)
-several performance optimisations for playback and graphics, especially for projects with many tracks, objects or many contained WAV projects
-(Extended) Record-Options now integrated in System-Options Dialog (including Bit Resolution)
-new ini-file handling with 4 different ini files for user, audio, toolbar and window settings including reset options for each of these
- extended visualisation settings and presets for K-Metering system
-new projekt option: Standard-Pitch (440Hz), used for Tuner-Visualisation and as standard when new ElasticAudio effects are created
-FreeDB support to get CD track names and interprets from internet
-new grid type: Beats/Bars (relative), maintains (sample) offset to next grid point for object movement
-display of extended information while loading a project
-changed path handling for Track Bouncing dialog (starts at project directory, but remembers changed path during a program session)
- extended format export options (split files at any markers, switch off track number prefix, CUE list export)
