3 мая как-то незаметно вышел новый REVOLUTION Q Soundset от Sounds-of-Revolution:

These patches for Waldorf Q series (Q, Q+, MicroQ and Komplexer) were progammed by Cyforce. The patches will be stored to user bank "C" 1-100.

Note: All sounds are programmed and optimized for a Q-Desktop/Keyboard. The patches sound a little bit different on a MicroQ. Because a normal Komplexer import sounds too bad to our ears we decided to programm a special Komplexer version! So if you work with Komplexer, use format "Revolution Q Soundset - Komplexer Format.fxb" and load the Wavetable Slot 1 and 2 because this version is optimized for the Komplexer ! By the way: if you import the normal MicroQ File into Komplexer the effects and sometimes lfo settings get lost.

Soniccouture have released a new product into their collection of sample-based instruments that run on the Kontakt 2 engine and in Logic’s EXS24.

Currently available titles in the range include Balinese Gamelan, Hang Drum and Kim, a multi-sampled Thai dulcimer, and their latest addition is equally left-field. It’s called Bowed Piano, and it comprises 1.5GB of 24-bit/44.1kHz samples from all 88 notes of a nine-foot Baldwin grand piano.

But the notes aren’t played in the usual way, using keys connected to felt hammers; they’re bowed with materials such as nylon fishing line coated in rosin, and horse hair. This creates a haunting, eerie sound that can be layered to make what the developers call “the ultimate pad sound: organic and evolving, yet totally playable and very musical”.

Bowed Piano is available for purchase from the 1st August 2008 on DVD or as a download. Both cost £58 and can be bought from Soniccouture’s web site.
