AFL and PFL Solo modes require the Surround Mixer plug-in.
Custom Pan Depth settings are unavailable when either AFL or PFL Solo mode is enabled.
If Mute Frees Assigned Voice is enabled, muted tracks will not be audible in PFL mode.
2) Нас. 944 написано:
The Surround Mixer requires slightly more DSP resources than the Stereo Mixer. Consequently, if you plan to regularly mix in stereo and use a Pan Depth of –2.5, you may want to use the Stereo Mixer plug-in.
Всё это не имеет никакого отношения к реальности уже 3 года (с версии 11), т.к. не существует никаких Stereo Mixer и Surround Mixer plug-ins, как и режима Mute Frees Assigned Voice.
3) Нас. 1071 пишут:
Pro Tools systems use 24-bit audio input and output signal paths, and internal 64-bit floating point processing for mixing and audio processing.
Это правда только наполовину, т.к. 64-bit floating point применяется только для суммирования, а для процессинга используется 32-bit floating point.
Причём, служба поддержки уже полгода назад согласилась с необходимостью исправления мануала, ниже привожу переписку с ними:

Dear Miroslav,
Thank you for contacting the Avid Support.
After taking a look at your account I can see that you have the non-HD version for Pro Tools 12 therefore that plug-in is not available for non-HD versions, that is why you're unable to find it.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.
All the best,
Marius

It is not so. Starting with version PT12.1, AFL and PFL Solo Modes used for non-HD version of PT, using the Surround Mixer Plug-in.

Dear Miroslav,
Indeed the AFL / PFL Solo Buses are available in non-HD versions as well, but still the Surround feature is limited to the HD Version.
Please see the comparison chart below:

I'm not talking about the Surround feature, I ask where I can see the Surround Mixer plug-in, required for the AFL and PFL Solo modes in PT12, as described in the Pro Tools Reference Guide Version 12.3 on page 229.

In page 905 of Guide Version 12.3 noted: "if you plan to regularly mix in stereo and use a Pan Depth of –2.5, you may want to use the Stereo Mixer plug-in".
Where can I find this Stereo Mixer plug-in?

Also untrue information stated in the notes at the page 229 of Pro Tools Reference Guide Version 12.3:
1) Custom Pan Depth settings are unavailable when either AFL or PFL Solo mode is enabled - it is not true, Custom Pan Depth settings are always available.
2) If Mute Frees Assigned Voice is enabled, muted tracks will not be audible in PFL mode - - it was true for Pro Tools|HD systems only (with HD Core ahd HD Accel).

Hi Miroslav,
Thanks for pointing this out to us, it seems that what you are reporting are errors in the manual that need to be addressed.
You are most likely right on all 3 points:
Since AFL/PFL and voice allocation behave significantly differently between HD Accel/PT10 and currently supported decks. I will report this to get them reviewed and the manual corrected as needed.
Regarding page 905, the Stereo Mixer is a pre-AAX legacy TDM thing (HD Accel etc) - there were Stereo Mixer and Surround Mixer plug-ins that you could choose between (the stereo mixer didn't use up as much DSP). Most likely this shouldn't be mentioned in the guide for PT12 as those plugins do not exist anymore.
Kind regards,
Marian Bogdan

Dear Marian Bogdan,
thanks for the reply, but I still have the issue.
On page 1033 of manual PT v12.3 I can read:
"Pro Tools systems use 24-bit audio input and output signal paths, and internal 64-bit floating point processing for mixing and audio processing".
But at this table: http://www.avid.com/US/products/Pro-Tools-HDX#features (compare systems)
I read: "Processing depth - 32-bit floating point, Mixer depth - 64-bit floating point".
Where is true?

Hi Miroslav,
The info on the website is the more up to date.
The manual will need to be updated there as well, thank you for spotting that.
Sorry for the trouble, do you have any technical issues I might assist with?
Kind regards,
Marian Bogdan
